UPDATE REGARDING DELAYS TO CURRENT UK SHIPMENTS

UK SHIPPING UPDATE – 9.02.2021

A quick update on latest delivery times for UK-bound orders.

Orders processed the week commencing 25th January are now 60% delivered to the final recipient. The remainder are currently awaiting final customs clearance.

Orders processed the week commencing 1st February have been dispatched from our warehouse and are in customs processing.

According to our delivery partner the average processing times in customs are trending at 5-7 working days. The expectation is that these will decrease to an average 1-2 working days in the coming weeks.

Further updates will follow regarding a transition date back to DPD as our preferred UK delivery partner.

OUR COMMITMENT TO CUSTOMERS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

With the United Kingdom now fully separated from the European Union, and following an abundance of recent media focus, we want to reaffirm our commitment to serving you and all of our customers across the United Kingdom. We understand there have been some delay to UK-bound parcels and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience these delays may cause.

Our products are shipped from our European distribution hub in the Netherlands. Completely new border controls and procedures are now in place, and the authorities are still adapting to the new systems. We have updated our procedures – and we’re doing everything we can to minimise disruption.

There are presently other challenges which we cannot influence directly:

  • There continue to be delays and backlogs due to revised customs procedures. Precise impact is hard to forecast, with the authorities currently predicting a minimum delay of 7 working days.

We are confident that these challenges will recede as conditions improve.

Actions we are taking to maintain and enhance our service during this period:

  • We have temporarily appointed Hermes as our UK parcel carrier, due to DPD being unable to provide full support at the present time. We anticipate DPD service will resume at full capacity during the week of February 15th.
  • For your convenience UK VAT continues to be applied to your order and collected by the UK authorities. Modere is currently covering any additional costs when due, so that there are no additional fees or duties to be collected on delivery to you. We still have some improvements to make to the commercial invoice that is included with your parcel to clarify the VAT breakdown of your order, and apologise if currently this can seem unclear or confusing.
  • As part of the new UK import requirements the mandatory commercial invoice must be affixed to the outside of the shipping parcel. We can reassure you that all stringent privacy regulations continue to be observed.
